This is the culminating song from the movie Raise Your Voice. The movie is about a girl who is a talented musician and dreams of attending a prestigous music school during the summer. Then her brother dies in a car accident and she blames herself for his death. She is accepted into the music school and her mother convinces her to go. The whole movie she is distraught over the death of her brother until she realizes that he is still there watching over her and inspiring her. The song (and the movie) is very moving.
