It takes time to heal
it
takes time
a lifetime
not the ticking of a clock
but the beating
of
our hearts
as they mend
and
bend around the
memories
within our minds

Like the sands inside
an
hourglass
counting minutes
re-collection of thoughts
flip over and
plunge down
churning up
what was buried
now
exposed to the filtering
downpour
swamping our souls

It takes time to heal
it
takes time
a lifetime
not the ticking of a clock
but the beating
of
our hearts
as they mend
and
bend around the
memories
within our minds

It certainly takes time... time... time...every ounce of it!
The original version actually printed out quite unexpectedly as an hourglass!

Janice,
This is beautiful. You are a healer, not with medicines, of course, but with your words you soothe and heal our minds and souls.

Yes you are, and a very dear ((((friend)))). I remember when you first presented this. It keeps soothing and giving, much like your heart, dear friend.

Thanks David.... sorry I missed this when you posted. Your compliment means a great deal.

Thanks dear Barbie. This means more today than back when I first wrote it ! Perpetual healing seems to be the order of the universe upon me. I wish this poetess could heal herself as much as others have said her words have them... but I suppose this is why it is such a balm.... because it is so abundantly real always.
