My dream is to have a safe place for the creatures of earth to live. It will start with dogs and cats and grow larger as time permits. My dream is that man on earth has no need for dog fighting rings or any form of animal torture. My dream is that if we care for and understand the animals we will learn the way of unconditional love and be too busy for war.-

Dear (((Look4Hope))),

...lovely to see ya again and what a truly beautiful dream...thanx so much for sharing and may it come true!!!

...excellent quote too...it speaks volumes!!!

heres a little poem for dog lovers...

When God made the earth and sky
The flowers and the trees
He then made all the animals
All the birds and bees.
And when his work was finished
Not one was quite the same
He said I'll walk this earth of mine
And give each one a name
So he travelled land and sea
And everywhere he went
A little creature followed him
Until it's strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth
And in the sky and sea
The little creature said Dear Lord
There's not one left for me.
The father smiled and softly said
I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name back to front
And called you 'DOG' my friend

A man dreamed that he had died, and was on the road to Heaven. He looked down, and saw beside him his faithful dog, trotting along with him. As he walked, he began to pass by a long stone wall, and at length came to a gate, huge and made of gold, with precious stones inlaid, where a man kept watch.

The traveler asked the gatekeeper if he had any water, since he had been walking for so long. "Certainly, there is a well right over there, help yourself," said the gateman.

"May I also let my dog drink?"

"No, I'm sorry, but only humans are allowed here... in Heaven," replied the fellow.

And with that, the man turned and left the gate, walking down the road again with his dog.

Some while later, they began to pass a low, wooden fence with large pastures as far as the eye could see. They walked on, and soon came to another gate, this time only a simple wooden frame across the entryway. Another man sat nearby, watching birds flying overhead.

The man asked if he could get a drink here, and the other fellow pointed to a sparkling brook that ran near the fence. "Help yourself, the water is free to all."

"May my dog also drink?" asked the man.

"Certainly. All creatures are welcome here... in Heaven."

"But I thought that place back there was Heaven. And the gate keeper there said I could not bring my dog inside..."

"No, my friend, that place is not Heaven. That is really one of the entries into Hell, and is a vile trick. God would never force a man to leave behind his most loyal friend."

On the lighter side: One for the CATS! ;)

The End of the Raven
A poem by Edgar Allen Poe's Cat

On a night quite unenchanting,
when the rain was downward slanting,
I awakened to the ranting
of the man I catch mice for.
Tipsy and a bit unshaven,
in a tone I found quite craven,
Poe was talking to a Raven
perched above the chamber door.
"Raven's very tasty," thought I,
as I tiptoed o'er the floor,
"There is nothing I like more"
Soft upon the rug I treaded,
calm and careful as I headed
Towards his roost atop that dreaded
bust of Pallas I deplore.
While the bard and birdie chattered,
I made sure that nothing clattered,
Creaked, or snapped, or fell, or shattered,
as I crossed the corridor;
For his house is crammed with trinkets,
curious and wierd decor -
Bric-a-brac and junk galore.

Still the Raven never fluttered,
standing stock-still as he uttered,
In a voice that shrieked and sputtered,
his two cents' worth - "Nevermore."
While this dirge the birdbrain kept up,
oh, so silently I crept up,
Then I crouched and quickly leapt up,
pouncing on the feathered bore.
Soon he was a heap of plumage,
and a little blood and gore -
Only this and not much more.

"Oooo!" my pickled poet cried out,
"Pussycat, it's time I dried out!
Never sat I in my hideout
talking to a bird before;
How I've wallowed in self-pity,
while my gallant, valiant kitty
Put and end to that damned ditty" -
then I heard him start to snore.
Back atop the door I clambered,
eyed that statue I abhor,
Jumped - and smashed it on the floor.

Dear Ladybird: You've made me love my animals even more. I can't remember the quote or saying precisely but I truly hope I can live up to all that I see in my dogs eyes when he looks at me!

For all cat lovers:

What Cats Do For Us

Warm our laps
Give us someone to talk to
Help reduce high blood pressure
Bring the winter air inside, nestled in their coats.
Create a kindred feeling with other "cat people".
Make us more aware of birds.
Donate their services as alarm clocks.
Display daring acrobatic feats right in front of our eyes.
Contribute to living a longer life
Make a window sill more beautiful
Keep mice on the run
Make us smile
Inspire poets and playwrights
Teach us how to land on our feet
Let us indulge our desires to really spoil someone
Make our homes warmer
Remind us that life is mysterious
Share with us the all-is-well experience of purring.
Instruct us in the luxurious art of stretching
Show us how to lick our wounds and go on
Give us cool cartoon characters.
Make even an old worn couch look beautiful
Open our hearts luv
