A silent little lamb sitting in a field
Frail and delicate, but also very beautiful
Staying oh so quiet, and keeping to herself
The brightest of white shines threw in the wool
An innocent little being, so small and fragile
She’s oh so trusting, to the point of foolishness
However, her small mind is rather quick and agile
But, not all harmful memories can she suppress
The horrible memories of that terrible day ring clear
Inside her mind, and inside her heart it screams out
Wanting to make it all go away, as if never happened
The images replay constant until she can’t help but shout
That day where the big bad wolf came out to play
Looking for something fun and exciting
Instead, he found the frail little lamb
He tried his all, to be sweet and inviting
He had to know he was predator, and she was prey
He should’ve known what he was thinking was sick
He knew to leave her alone, and to just get away
She was too young, too innocent to play his games
Instead he lured her into his devilish trap
Got her to leave her flock, and go with him
Being oh so foolish, she followed as he went
They got to one little place, and the lights dimmed
She was nervous, and oh so confused
She didn’t understand what was happening
Her little mind could not see she was only used
To feed the perverse needs of the very sick wolf
He inched closer and closer, backing her into a corner
His beady little eyes, watching her delicate little moves
Touching her in ways that made her skin crawl
She tried so hard to push away with her hooves
But, he was too strong for her to overtake
He would be the one doing the taking today
She knew now, going with his was a mistake
She wanted to cry, and wanted to yell
But only soft tears fell down from her face
She was much too frightened for anything more
She stayed quiet, and did not make a sound
While the whole time watching the little door
She hoped and prayed someone would come
Someone to save her from this horrible scene
She just wanted to be safe again, to be freed
She kept hoping that it was all just a dream
A dream it was not, as reality slowly sank in
Deeper and deeper into her, as soft tears fell
She knew if someone didn’t come soon it’d be too late
Her once perfect life, now turned into a hell
Rescue never came, never was she saved from her nightmare
She was found afterwards, and would just not speak
Many asked what had happened, where has she gone
However, she refused to talk, she was just too weak
She never told anyone, until much later where she was
Even after that, she waited to tell what had happened to her
By that time, it was much to late to get the wolf
She claimed the entire incident was only a blur
When in actuality, she remembered every little detail
But, she thought if she didn’t talk about it it’d go away
She soon found out she was horribly wrong
She always thought about it, day after day
It would haunt her dreams at night when she slept
She thought she felt his presence around her at all times
She became so paranoid that he would return for her
So, she would just become another one of his crimes
As the days turned to months, months to years, time faded
As time faded, so did her paranoia he would return
She started to live her life again, little by little
It was no longer that big of a concern
But, now she sits in the same little field
With wool still shining bright shades of white
And tries to keep all the other sheep safe
Making sure there are absolutely no wolfs in sight

Little lambs are innocent, not foolish.
So many little lambs, and I understand.
Thank you so much for sharing this poem.
Gentle hugs, Laura

There is indeed a entire soul aching with emotion poured out into this writ. Takes a great deal of courage to release that emotion into words and to share them. There are enormous flocks of these little lambs who understand, relate and will benefit from the bravery of speaking out.
