Pleasant World

They say a poem's not really a poem until you share it with someone else. And that's what this place is all about.

Pleasant World

Brutal World with that bitter taste in your mouth
Bits of flesh still weeping from my heart
I’ll never give up my unshakable faith
This hope of love to revive undeath
To coax breath into my held stop chest
Tis the consequence of birth to weep
the result of truth to turn away
Launching my footsteps uphill
Dragging this one while lifting that
You over there with your eyes fixed down
The blush of love’s kiss unvanished
Was it stolen in a moment of interruption
Or given with a blessing prayed attached?
Kind existence reveal your role!
As the moon courses the sky and
Planes land where nothing but wind once whispered
Ahhh, what loveliness my soul edits!
Like a famous playwright’s epitaph

Pleasant World with this sweet savor upon thy lip
Sheen of honey drips the bounty from thy heart
And every day acceptance causes the soul to sing

Janice,
I guess it depends how you look at it ...I'd love the world to be pleasant but with all this fighting among nations I don't know if that will be ever so. I guess I'm a wannabe optimist with a little too much pessimist in me. But maybe one day we'll get there, I just don't know... :(

Have a blessed day!

I have significant reason to stand on a mountain top and howl my anguishes till the echo of it reaches the end of the Universe, BUT, I also have significant reason to stand on the same mountain top and shout my praises till the echo of it reaches the top of Heaven.

I'm more a realist than pessimist. I deal with what I can. I acknowledge what I'm made aware of. I pray for what is impossible for me to change. I challenge myself for what I am capable of changing. I don't go where I'm not wanted.

It does depend how you look at life. Today in innumerable places heinous things have occurred. Today in innumerable places this day has been beautiful, peace filled and life giving!

It's important to consider ALL we are capable of knowing around the world. It's vital to the wellbeing of everyone... to live your life as well as you can and to give love to those who will accept it and also to those who reject it.

You know that quote
““I hold it true, whatever befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most;'tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.”

Alfred, Lord Tennyson
I expect that Lord Tennyson thought it a Pleasant World.... just because he had indeed loved.

Thank you Janice
Love is powerful and through your beautiful writing you keep its flame alive
By a spooky coincidence I have just been reading about Alain Ballou
And his pacifism. 'Love where it is rejected'Iindeed.
I am SO glad you stand up and shout for love

Peter

Thanks so much Peter!

I'm not familiar with this writer... I'll have to go on a search! Sounds like the kind of reading I'd appreciate. Unfortunately rejection is a very real consequence in life. I've known it most intimately m'self... and it doesn't break the love I treasure beyond circumstances.
Love just makes sense.... even when bottled up inside the sanctuary of the soul's deepest reservoirs.

Fantastic quote Janice ... and that turning can be the hardest thing you ever have to do.
The author was Adin Ballou
.. I misread the name..
Happy searching :)
