Dandelion

They say a poem's not really a poem until you share it with someone else. And that's what this place is all about.

The woman was weeding her garden
All the weeds came up without much effort
Except one dandelion.
That would not be uprooted
No matter how hard she tried.
Be like that dandelion:
Never give into peer pressure
Never sacrifice your principles
No matter what stands in your way
Some people will try to "uproot you"
Bully you into believing their opinion
But remember, stand firm,
Just like that stubborn dandelion.
Have a blessed day!

I know Marghertita said in a private message she would comment on this, once I fixed it. Does no one else like my poem? :(

But remember, stand firm,

I believe it is vital to live life this way. Peers come and go! Your principles are a foundation of integrity and self respect.... who would sacrifice their hand, ear or big toe? Part of you is part of you........ whether or not others understand your reasons. Some people certainly do try to "uproot you" and thrust their unasked opinions upon you......... they poison their own roots with such..... we are our own version of belief, opinion, reasoning and intent.... they have theirs... and you have yours. So many disrespect the free will of the human spirit. It takes courage to break from social, family, church, community conditioning and stand firm in who you are with pride and dignified self respect. It becomes quite easy when you do.... and just as that resilient dandelion.... one...individual flower... send forth an abundance of seeds.... and you just don't know where your influence to be who you are no matter what... will sprout up and inspire another and another and another.... to be just as empowered and strengthened in inner peace!

Thank you, Davidf! I do like your poem... I like delving down further and could do so even more than this. "Dandy " indeed!

Sometimes the Peak gets quiet and especially when nice weather hits and life becomes busier for many. Keep writing Davidf!

An interesting piece; appreciated the message; perhaps this work could be strengthen with the incorporation of ideas for 'root growth'.

Never sacrifice your principles
No matter what stands in your way
This poem has a deep meaning in it.
true, sometimes we have to be persistent. our principles are what make us who we are. some people may like them or dislike them, doesn't matter, as long as we don't disturb others.
always be who you are!

thanks for sharing this message, Davidf! :)

Regards,
melia
