There and Back Again

They say a poem's not really a poem until you share it with someone else. And that's what this place is all about.

I was there
as the sunset shone through the rain
as the candles gave a sight of flowers
as the green watery leaves covered the earth
and as the wind traveled with a message

Yet i've been hiding
behind the shadow of the hills
sealing my soul in a cave
as the colours faded away
and the skies turned to grey

Till a butterfly soars through the mountain
flapping its beautiful wings
leaving a glimpse of rainbow
There and back again
my heart starts to sing
and the river finds its way home

This is my first poem after 6,5 years. I loved writing but all my inspirations went away because of one big problem in my life.
Once in a while I tried to write a poem or a quote, but no matter how I tried, I couldn't find those wonderful words, I failed.

For the past 2 weeks, I've been taking a journey to the past, I remembered many people from my past, great memories, nice moments, and I found my old poems and quotes.
Then yesterday I found this website and I remembered how I loved this forum many years ago. I read my old posts and poems from other people here. And my inspirations came back!!

maybe this one is not as good as my old poems, it also took longer and harder time to create this one, because i haven't been writing for years. but this is it, I finally made it, at least something good enough to be posted :D hope you all like it :)

regards,
melia

Welcome back Melia! And I think your poem is perfect just the way it is. I too am returning to Inspiration Peak after a challenging couple of years, so I can relate to being on that river which eventually brings us full circle. Happy New Year to you and yours, and I look forward to seeing more of your poems. ;-)

Ahhh (((( Melia )))) how lovely to come find you here!!! Beautiful poem...
Life is truly difficult and wonderful. I'm so pleased to see you've found your way back here. I think many of us have taken a bit of a sabbatical. You make me smile so much to have you back here! :D:
