The great tree scattered seed
And the wind carried them.
some were caught in the whirlwind
And carried far away.
Sun beat down, and rains came.
Sprouts came forth.
And far and near
Their roots went forth
And gripped the earth
And claimed a home.
Still the wind blew
And tossed their heads,
And seeds again were carried forth
To blend, to build a forest of variation
(So like a nation),
All coming from the same great source,
With beauty growing from the root,
Sharing the same sun,
The same moon,
The same earth . . .
All of worth.
