Cry in the Darkness

I sit in the dark
the light from the computer screen
sending unearthly light into the space
between woman and machine

I have read of the struggles
of the pain, caused by those
too concerned with their own
thirst for power to care that the rights
of others are being denied.

Who are these people
who think they can arbitrarily decide
what is right or wrong for others
simply because they do not conform
to the norm, whatever that means!

I pray, crying in the dark,
that those that can, will make a difference
I cry, praying in the dark,
for all my brothers and sisters
oppressed by greed, hate and fear.

Loving the world into change
one pray, one cry at a time.
