The right to
believe in myself.
The freedom to create me.
The right to keep learning. The
right to choose what I feed
my own body. The right to choose
what I feed my own mind.
The right to choose not to buy,
pay for, own, and take care of
more stuff than I need.
The right to live simply according to
my own tastes. The right to choose
friends and mentors I admire,
and to get negative people out of
my life. The right to choose the best
reading, viewing, listening and
participating. The right to say "No"
to 90% of the ideas, pastimes,
substances and tastes
people are trying to push on me.
The right to focus my attention
where I want it and not where the
spin doctors and advertisers want
it. (It's my attention, my life,
after all, not theirs.) Nobody can
tell me I'm too young or too old,
to make a difference in the world.
The right to learn from all
religions and to select what helps
me be the person I am in my own
heart. The right to love trees and
wild things. To spend time with them
and to befriend them.
The right to be free from the
dictates of fashion
and the marketplace
The right to fully develop the
unique capable person that I am.
The right to shine bright in the
world. The right to look at myself
in the mirror and to like what I see,
knowing that the Great Creator
made us each unique
(I am not a model and I do not
aspire to look or act like one.
I want to look like me.) The right to
believe in miracles and even
to be one.
