The ninth life
Here I am,
Feet barely
planted
on this
half-lit shore.
Quietly nursing
yesterdays
wounds.
In these brown hands
a cardboard box of
painted dreams
that never
opened their wings...
Pluripotent seeds
left unnurtured.
As the wind steals
a tear
from my eye
A
Silent requiem
for what might
have been,
I turn to leave...
When suddenly
just
beyond
the velvet veil of
my own self pity
I glimpse
a smile of ocean
laughing
before me
Wild and deep
Sensuous and sacred
It seems to say...
"Child of the mystery,
This is your ninth life.
This open moment,
gleaming with silver promise,
burning with amber hope,
Will never come again.
Take the quivering hand i give you
Green with life,
Naked with possibility
And dance with me
In the shadow
of the shadow
To the ache within
the ache
Where soft forgiveness
waits to kiss your
tired face
And fragrant love
opens her
petalled heart
to the eyes
of the evening
Leave your past,
and your tears on
the altar of yesterday,
And walk with me
Into
the infinite arms
of
Now.

Damn, that is a great piece of writing.....and a nice visible flow of words also...........Viktor Frankl lost everything in the concentration camps....all of his loved ones..........yet never lost his will to live and to tell others how he did it so they too could survive, persevere and endure the crucible that is life.........you too are a guiding light, thanks, Fred

Yes Maithri,
life is always worth the effort of going forward into and experiencing all of it that we are able to.
A very nice work of poetic expression.
Thank you,
Zane

For me to believe in you doesn't require that you believe in me,...it only simply requires that you know and thus become all that you are meant to be. MB
Spellbound - that's the word I was looking for!
(Thanks Ladybird)

*sighs blissfully* what an utterly divine creation. Your words paint such beautiful images into my mind. This poem should be in a book, on the very first page... *standing ovation* Thank you so much for sharing this superb piece of poetry - it really speaks to a persons soul.

Maithri,
Thank you dearest soul for this!!! This is the best expression of hope and forgiveness for all our shortcomings. I love this and will treasure this as I do all your poems.
So, when are you going to be published??????
Much love,
Holly
